But not all of us are lucky enough to have a pantry the size of our bedroom. If you’re like me, you have one small, shallow cabinet to carry all the pantry weight. With only inches to spare on space, keeping my tiny pantry organized is essential.

To help you on your organizing journey, here are my top tips to keep your small pantry organized…on any budget!

Tips to Keep Your Small Pantry Organized | One Neat Nest

1. Use tiered storage. This is a great way to take advantage of the depth of your cabinets, while still making sure everything is neat and easy to access. Canned goods and smaller items have a tendency to get lost in the dark, back corners of our pantries, so keeping everything within eyesight is key.  Choose an expandable option so you can fit your space perfectly.

2. Decant your bulk items. I know on the front end it can be a time consuming task, but getting your bulk items like flour, sugar, rice, pasta, etc., out of their boxes and into reusable containers can make a big difference in how much you can fit into a small space. Look for containers that are meant for stacking so you can take advantage of every square inch of space!

3. Use bins to keep like items together. When we throw everything into our pantry together, it can be hard to find what you have, which can sometimes cost you money buying products you don’t need. Group your items into categories that make sense for you so you always know where to reach.

4. Use your door. While it may not be possible for all pantries, some people have extra space on the inside of their pantry door to use for storage. This is a great place to keep items that you need to grab and go, like snacks, or non-food items like trash bags, paper towels, aluminum foil, etc.
